Have a child starting Kindergarten?

At Menai Public School, we are dedicated to ensuring every student has a positive transition to school experience. To support this, we invite parents and children to participate in a series of events during the year before starting Kindergarten.

Below is an overview of the key transition activities that take place throughout the year.

Menai Minis

We are excited to welcome our future learners and their families to the Menai Public School community! If your child is starting Kindergarten in 2027, now is the perfect time to begin your journey with us.

Join us for our Menai Minis sessions in Term 3—an engaging opportunity for your child to explore the school environment, make new friends, and build confidence before their first day. These sessions also provide a great chance for families to connect and meet our friendly and supportive staff.

We look forward to partnering with you to make your child’s transition to school a positive and enjoyable experience.

Important Dates:

• Session 1 (Literacy): Tuesday 1 September 2026 (2:30 pm)
• Session 2 (Numeracy): Friday 11 September 2026 (10:00 am)
• Session 3 (Visual Arts): Tuesday 15 September 2026 (2:30 pm)
• Session 4 (Sport): Friday 25 September 2026 (10:00 am)

Storytime!

As part of our commitment to ensuring every student has a positive transition to school experience, we invite students and their families to attend Storytime!

Join us Friday morning in the library from 9:00 to 9:20 am, where Mrs Hanegraaf and special guests share wonderful picture books and bring stories to life.
