What to expect in Kindergarten?
Learning and Development
Kindergarten follows the New South Wales (NSW) Early Stage 1 curriculum, providing a strong foundation in key learning areas. Children develop early skills in literacy, numeracy, creative arts, health and physical education, science and technology, and human society and its environment. While learning through play supports children’s social, emotional, and academic growth in a nurturing environment, explicit teaching also plays an important role in developing essential skills and knowledge.
Daily Routines
Kindergarten children learn important daily routines, including morning arrival, snack and lunch breaks, lining up, using bubblers, and moving safely around the school. Teachers provide supportive guidance to help children settle in confidently. Practising these routines at home can also help your child build independence and feel more comfortable at school.
