Principals message

Dear Students and Families,

On behalf of the entire Menai Primary School community, I want to welcome you all back for another busy and exciting school year! I would like to offer a particularly warm welcome to our new Kindergarten students and their families – many of who are joining us for the first time. Additionally, I want to acknowledge the students and families of our Year 6 students now in their final year but with so many wonderful experiences ahead of them as they prepare for their transition to high school.
Our teachers, Mrs Curran, Mr Martin and our cleaners have all been working very hard over the past few weeks to prepare our beautiful school for another year. They have provided an incredibly warm welcome for me and I already feel like one of the family. I am greatly looking forward to developing open, strong, respectful relationships with our students and with the many people who nurture, guide and love them more than anything else.

At Menai Primary School, we already have so much of what we need:

  • A team of dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to ensure our school is able to operate smoothly in order to meet the needs of our students.
  • Students who bounce through our school gates each and every day, deserving of an education that is second to none
  • Resources to support dynamic learning experiences in every Key Learning Area
  • Technology provisions which ensure our students are well-equipped to experience 21st century learning opportunities
  • Beautiful, leafy grounds in which to work and plan
  • A supportive parent community who value strong connections between home and school
  • Pride in our reputation as a small school with a big heart
  • And last, but not least, a committed, enthusiastic principal who is relishing the opportunity to lead, learn and grow with this amazing Menai community

My goal in this next twelve months is to develop a deep understanding of our community and, in doing so, develop a collaborative blueprint for how best to continue our journey forward.

By asking questions, listening intently to the responses and observing our wonderful community in action I am confident that we will successfully build on the existing solid foundations and create a dynamic learning culture where together we learn and grow.
